Marketing Communication Intern

At the International Balloon Festival, we orchestrate these moments of inexpressible happiness, where everything seems to align perfectly to create memorable moments. Friends and families come together to experience the wonder of hot air balloons, which inspire our daily work. The festival team is at the center of all this magic and continues to innovate to produce even more. We bring people together, we make them dream and above all, we do it by surpassing ourselves. Our watchword is creativity. We use it in all spheres of our work, whether it's to find solutions, rectify our approaches or deliver one of the most important festivals in Quebec. To do so, we are looking for a Marketing Communications intern who will collaborate with us in the ideation and production of the wonder that sets us apart. Mandate: Under the responsibility of the Marketing Director, the intern will participate in the planning, execution and analysis of a marketing and communication plan for the International Balloon Festival through a creative and dynamic approach. He/she will collaborate in the implementation of innovative strategies.

Your responsibilities:

Participate in / at

  • Development of marketing communication strategies in order to increase the festival's notoriety and traffic and to boost ticket, passport and package sales;
  • Identification and analysis of marketing needs to promote the activities and artists in the program. 
  • Performance analysis of communications and sales tools
  • Continuous monitoring and analysis of KPIs (key performance indicators)
  • Implement tracking pixel
  • Search Engine Optimization (SEO/SEM)
  • Sales statistics (demographic data)
  • Data analysis via GA4, GTM, etc.
  • Development of the promotional store online and in the field (production of promotional materials and objects, marketing strategy and inventory management)
  • The digital marketing strategy
  • Community Engagement
  • Message personalization 
  • The realization of various special projects (40th edition of the festival)


  • Excellent French, written and spoken;
  • Mastery of the Office suite and Google Workspace 
  • Knowledge of social networks (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok);
  • Knowledge of Canva is an asset;
  • Bilingual with writing skills, an asset;


  • Professional, efficient, committed with an energizing attitude;
  • Openness and adaptation to change with very good stress management;
  • Highly autonomous with a sense of organization and tight follow-ups;
  • Exceptional communication skills mixed with listening skills;
  • Excellent customer service and teamwork;
  • Commitment to the mission and goals of the organization;
  • Ability to work in an open office environment;
  • Knowledge of tools: Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Mailchimp, an asset;
  • Spirit of analysis and synthesis.

Previous Experience

  • Any relevant experience in community management, communications or marketing.

Hourly rate of $16.00.
Mid-January to end of April 2-3 days per week, flexible and hybrid. 140 or 240 hour internship available.

At the end of his internship, the intern could be offered a summer job and continue his learning. He or she may also extend his or her stay at the International Balloon Festival, if desired. At the end of the summer, the intern will have had the opportunity to participate in the organization of a major event in Quebec in the entertainment and cultural sector.
