Johann-François-Ouellette-Frève

Montérégie
With 17 years' experience as a driver, Johann-François has taken part in the festival 17 times. He has flown in Canada, the USA, Mexico, France and China. His record: a Canadian flight duration record, which he holds with Sébastien Poupart. In addition to his flying exploits, he has achieved numerous distinctions in the field. An instructor since 2019, he is also qualified in night flying. He is director of the ÉPMQ, director of the AMQ and president of the CBA, actively contributing to the organization and regulation of aeronautical activities. A memorable personal anecdote: "My first flight was as a fetus. My mother, one of the first female pilots in Quebec, taught my father to become a pilot himself. After several flights as a passenger and participation in festivals as a crew member, I started as a student pilot at the age of 16. I became a pilot in 2007 and took part in my first festival as a pilot at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, the biggest event of its kind in the world. To date, I've taken part in over 60 festivals in America and Europe. This is just the beginning of this adventure, and I'm determined to keep exploring the world in a hot-air balloon." His passion for flying comes from his mother, who was the first woman to touch a burner in Quebec and the second to obtain her license.
