Hailing from the USA, Gene has 26 years' experience as a pilot and has taken part in 20 editions of the festival. He has won GEBA's Ted Torok Award and two BFA Directors Awards. Among his achievements, he has served as President and Board Member of the Great Eastern Balloon Association (GEBA). His passion for hot-air ballooning began when he was a child and saw a balloon in the film "Around the World in 80 Days". Much later, when he realized this dream, he was driven by the desire to share this excitement with children of all ages.
