With 37 years' experience as a pilot, Danielle has taken part in the festival 40 times and has flown in many countries around the world, including the USA, Dominican Republic, France, Germany, Belgium, Finland, Portugal, Turkey, Madagascar, India, Japan and China. She took 2nd place with Léo Burman in the 1999 Gordon Bennett Cup, a flight of 1536 km, and 2nd place with Linda Ellis in the 2010 America's Challenge, a flight of 1971 km. Among her most notable achievements, she completed a 70.5-hour flight from Belgium to Finland. Her passion for hot-air ballooning began when she was asked to do a chase, and she was immediately captivated by the experience.
