Terms of use of the website

When you visit the Internet site (hereinafter the "Site") of the International Balloon Festival of Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu (hereinafter the "International", "Festival", "we", "us" and "our"), you agree to abide by the conditions of use and the laws and regulations in force in Quebec. Conversely, if you do not comply with all the conditions of use of the Site, you may lose access to it. However, L'International may modify its terms of use at any time without notice.

Any service of process or institution of any legal proceeding shall be made in the judicial district of Iberville, Province of Quebec.

Disclaimer of liability

L'International cannot guarantee that its Site will be error-free, or that it will be free from interruption, computer attack, service failure or temporary outage, whether originating from the Site itself or from a third party, nor that it will obtain all the results hoped for by searching or using its content or related links. The Site and its content are provided "as is". The International cannot be held responsible for any direct or indirect damage caused by the use of its Site. The Festival does not guarantee any specific results from the use of the online purchasing system.

All pass holders (daily tickets and passports) acknowledge and accept the risks involved in participating in the various activities programmed by the International. They assume full responsibility for any risks arising from the activities, and waive all claims for physical or material loss or damage resulting from any cause whatsoever suffered by the holders, before, during or after the event. Any person failing to comply with all rules and regulations will be required to leave the event without refund. In addition, he/she may be held liable for any loss or damage resulting therefrom.

Currency

All prices displayed on our Site are in Canadian dollars.

Payment methods

Daily ticket/passports (Ticketmaster): Several payment methods are accepted, including American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and Ticketmaster and Live Nation gift cards and/or cash concert vouchers. Ticketmaster and Live Nation cash vouchers Live Nation vouchers for eligible events. For the purchase of flights, all payment methods are accepted.

Buying a ticket

For each product, the maximum quantity is set at 8 per transaction. Each individual must be in possession of a ticket, regardless of age, with the exception of children under 4. Children 4 and under must still provide proof of age.

Child

All children aged 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult. All persons over 5 years of age must have their own ticket to enter the Festival site. Children aged 4 and under have free access to the festival site. Children aged 4 and under must still provide proof of age.

Reduced mobility

By submitting their access card (e.g. CAL), each wheelchair user will be entitled to one (1) companion with free access to the site. In addition, each wheelchair user and their companion have access to the dedicated platform near the main stage. By submitting their access card (e.g. CAL), each person requiring assistance will be entitled to one (1) attendant free of charge.

Product-specific clauses

Each product (daily ticket, passports, parking, terrace access and proscenium access) purchased will give access to the day or days indicated on the electronic ticket. It is your responsibility to check the schedules, which may vary from day to day, as well as the exclusions for each product.

Order confirmation

After completing your purchase, you will see your invoice on screen and receive it by e-mail. If you do not receive it (on-screen or by e-mail) after submitting payment information, if you receive an error message or if there is a service interruption at the time of the transaction, you are responsible for contacting Ticketmaster directly to ensure that your order has been processed. If you do not receive confirmation, the Festival cannot be held responsible for any errors or omissions in the processing of your order. No fault or responsibility can be attributed to the Festival in this case.

Ticket acquisition

Purchased tickets are available in electronic format only. To access your tickets, you must log in to Ticketmaster with the email address you used to complete your transaction. After your purchase, if you do not find your electronic tickets in your inbox, please check your junk mail folder.

Reproduction or modification of products

Reproduction and modification of the various products sold by the Festival are strictly forbidden. Anyone found to have modified or reproduced any of the International's products will be refused access to the Festival for the duration of the event. In such a case, the International reserves the right to seize and cancel the product, the related order and any other purchase/reservation made by the person charged with the offence or the purchaser of the product concerned.

Credit and debit card security policy (Interac)

"If you fail to comply with applicable laws regarding your transactions, you will not be able to hold us liable. We may provide law enforcement agencies with information you have provided to us regarding your transactions to assist in any investigation or prosecution on your part. If we are unable to verify or authenticate the information or tickets you have provided during any registration, order, purchase, ticketing, sale, authentication, delivery, payment or remittance process, or any other process, or if we are no longer able to verify or authorize your credit card or bank account information, your tickets may be cancelled, we may refuse to honor all pending and future ticket purchases made with such credit card or bank accounts or via any online accounts associated with such credit cards or bank accounts. This license does not affect the ownership of your User Content, including the right to further license your User Content, except to the extent that it conflicts with these Terms. We are not obligated to display, perform or otherwise use your User Content, or to identify the source of your User Content. You will not make or permit any claim against us that our use of your User Content violates any of your rights."

Returns and refunds

All ticket and passport sales are made through the Ticketmaster platform or directly on site at the festival and are final. It is your responsibility to check your order and ensure that you have the type and quantity of product you require.

All sales of flights are made via our website or directly on site at the festival and are final, except in the event of cancellation of an entire day or the entire festival due to weather conditions.

Each product purchased will give access to the day or days mentioned on the electronic ticket. It is your responsibility to check the schedules, which may vary from day to day, as well as the exclusions for the various products.

All Festival programming, including balloon flights and shows, is subject to change, delay or cancellation without notice.

If you are unable to attend, no refunds will be issued. No refunds or exchanges of daily tickets, integrated or regular 7-day passports, terrace access, proscenium access or parking tickets are permitted. Dress appropriately for the day's weather. You may, however, transfer your ticket to a third party.

In the event of inclement weather, holders of flight reservations will have the option of postponing their flight (only for the duration of the festival and if space is available) or receiving a refund. In the latter case, you must be at the kiosk on time to reschedule your flight or receive a refund. For more information, please consult the FAQ.

Please allow 10 to 14 business days for the refund to appear in your account.

L'International may modify its exchange and refund policies at any time, at its sole and exclusive discretion.

Ticket/passport transfer

Daily tickets can be transferred as many times as you like, until they are activated.

Passports can be transferred as many times as you like, as long as transfers are made before the first day of the festival, August 9 at 12 noon.

Please note that parking, terrace access and proscenium access are not transferable.

If an event is cancelled, postponed, rescheduled or moved, and we approve refunds, only the original purchaser, i.e. the person who bought the tickets in question directly on the Ticketmaster site, is eligible for refunds or available credits.

Once tickets have been activated, they cannot be refunded. In the event of cancellation please contact us at the following email address: festival@montgolfieres.com.

For cancelled events, the original purchaser will receive any available refund (or may take advantage of an optional credit offer, if applicable), and no further action is required on the part of the recipient of the transferred tickets. Refunds are made via the Ticketmaster app or website.

For postponed or moved events, recipients of transferred tickets will need to transfer the tickets to the original purchaser so that the original purchaser can take advantage of any available refunds and/or credit options.

Please note that recipients of transferred tickets are not eligible for any available refunds or credits, as they did not purchase the tickets directly from Ticketmaster.

*TICKET TRANSFERS CANNOT BE MADE FOR RESCHEDULED EVENTS.

Purchase from a third party

Tickets obtained online from unauthorized sources and not directly from our Site or Ticketmaster's Site, may be lost, stolen and counterfeited and, if so, are invalid. In addition, neither we nor Ticketmaster guarantee the authenticity of tickets purchased from unauthorized third party resellers (such as brokers or individuals), we recommend that you purchase tickets directly through Ticketmaster. Neither International Balloon Festival nor Ticketmaster will be held responsible for any transaction made other than through the latter's platform.

"Unlawful resale" (or attempted unlawful resale) of tickets, including, but not limited to, counterfeiting or copying of tickets, is grounds for seizure and cancellation without compensation. Certain maximum resale premiums and restrictions may apply in some states, and we cannot be required to provide legal advice regarding resale or ticket pricing. You are responsible for complying with all applicable ticket resale laws. In addition, we reserve the right to restrict or deny ticket purchasing privileges to anyone we determine is, or has been, in violation of our policies. Since we do not guarantee the authenticity of tickets purchased from unauthorized third-party resellers (such as brokers or individuals), we recommend that you purchase tickets directly through us, through authorized partners or from the venue box office to guarantee ticket authenticity. Tickets may not be used for advertising, promotions, competitions or prize draws, unless expressly authorized by us in writing." - Ticketmaster

Hot-air balloon flight

If you have booked a hot-air balloon ride, our team will send you a reminder e-mail in the days leading up to your flight.

If you have booked a hot-air balloon ride for one of our 18 flight times during the Festival, you are responsible for arriving at the Festival site at the time requested at the time of purchase. No refunds will be given for late arrivals.

Integrated 7-day passports (sold out)

An integrated 7-day passport can be purchased online from TicketMaster. To access the site, festival-goers have two options:

1. Bracelet

Festival-goers must replace their electronic ticket with a wristband. This allows them to enter and leave the site by simply presenting the wristband on their wrist or ankle.

2. Purchase confirmation + ID (for those without a smartphone)

Festival-goers must present their purchase confirmation and ID to customer service, and will be issued with a wristband. This allows them to enter and leave the site by simply presenting the wristband on their wrist or ankle.

For broken wristbands
‍Festival-goers
who accidentally or deliberately break their wristband must pick up a new one at the customer service kiosk (near the general public entrance). In order to get a new wristband, they must have the old one in their possession, as well as proof of identity.

Regular 7-day passports

Regular 7-day passports can be purchased online at TicketMaster or on site at the general public box office. Festival-goers have three options for gaining access to the site:

1. Bracelet

Festival-goers can replace their electronic ticket with a wristband. This allows them to enter and leave the site by simply presenting the wristband on their wrist or ankle.

2. Mobile ticket

Festival-goers can keep their electronic ticket if they wish. However, those who keep their e-ticket must receive a stamp when they leave the festival and wish to return during the day. As soon as they return, they must present their stamp in order to regain access to the festival site.

3. Purchase confirmation & ID (for those without a smartphone)

Festival-goers must present their purchase confirmation and ID to customer service, and will be issued with a wristband. This allows them to enter and leave the site by simply presenting the wristband on their wrist or ankle.

2. Physical ticket (for those who buy on site OR don't have a smartphone)

Festival-goers receive a physical ticket when they buy on site or don't have a smartphone. They must keep this ticket. If they wish to leave the festival site and return in the course of the day, they must receive a stamp on leaving. As soon as they return, they must present their stamp in order to regain access to the festival site.

Les envolées

A flight reservation includes a daily ticket giving access to the festival site. To pick it up, reservation holders must go to the general public ticket office. Here's how:

1. Confirmation of purchase + proof of identity

The reservation holder, or the person collecting the tickets, must present the purchase confirmation and proof of identity. This person will receive the number of tickets included in the flight reservation, according to the number of people attending (all tickets are given to the person present, even if not all the people in the group have arrived).

If they wish to leave the festival site and return in the course of the day, they must receive a stamp on leaving. As soon as they return, they must present their stamp in order to gain access to the festival site again.

Personal items: (lost, stolen or broken)

Under no circumstances can we be held responsible for lost, stolen or broken personal items.
