Cumulating over 272 million listens and praised by Harper's BAZAAR, The FADER, Flaunt, NYLON, PAPER, W Magazine, Interview, Pigeons & Planes, and many others, Charlotte Cardin rises from the ashes in 2021 with her very first career album, Phoenix. It stayed at the top of Billboard's Canadian Albums Chart for several weeks, and propelled Charlotte to the top of the 2022 JUNO Awards nominations, with six nominations in all. Phoenix also won the Félix for Anglophone Album of the Year at the Gala de l'ADISQ 2021, made the long list for the Prix de Musique Polaris 2021, and was certified Platinum in Canada less than a year after its release.
Charlotte's first 2 EPs, Big Boy and Main Girl, launched her into a two-year global whirlwind - opening for Nick Murphy and BØRNS, appearing at Bonnaroo and as guest of honor at the Festival d'Été de Québec for Sting and Peter Gabriel. In autumn 2021, the artist headlined the grand return of Osheaga, in his hometown of Montreal. A few weeks later, his Canadian tour sold out across the country, with over 47,000 tickets sold, and his concerts in Los Angeles and New York were sold out.
